2001 Dakota 3.9 4x4 Auto

My truck just rolled 200k and as preventative maintenance I decided to replace the water pump cause its only been replaced once before. While I was installing the new one I accidently Installed one of the long bolts where the short bolts should a went.

It took more than half the bolt so I thought it was the right hole.. I kept tightening till I noticed the timing cover started to bulge and I quickly took the bolt out.

I didn't hear anything crack and I don't see anything but could I have broken the timing cover or causes an oil leak?

Haven't started the truck yet but I think that's the only wait to tell.
