Default homemade lift kit?

ok a lift if perty expensive on our Dakotas if you can find one, ive got 2'' blocks in the rear of mine and torsion keys up front, I can clear 33''s but that's about it. has anyone thought of making a lift kit? I know I can get shackled for the rear lift, but how would a guy go about lifting the front end of a Dakota?

If you're going to go through all the trouble to make a proper lift kit, you might as well just put a solid axle under the front.

I've done it both ways. I installed a 5.5" lift kit on mine, then later did an SAS. The kit was almost as much work as doing the SAS, and that wasn't making a kit from scratch like you're talking about doing. I think I probably spent a little more on the SAS than I did on the kit but if you shop carefully, you can probably find parts cheaper than I did. I also bought a lot of parts brand new, which I probably didn't have to. I did most of the conversion in one weekend, but I pretty much had everything ready to go.
