Default Backspacing on rims...

Hey, I'm looking into getting some new rims. I've got a 97 dakota sport and was wondering if anyone knew the specifics on our rims. I know they're 15 x 8(I think, maybe 7) and they have a 6 x 4.5 bolt pattern, but how do I figure out the backspacing? Im looking at either these Cragar's or these American Racing. They're pretty similar rims, but the AR's are a little nicer as well as more money. What do you think?

Also, could someone explain how I need to select the specifics of my rims(I've never bought new ones)? Does the backspacing have to stay the same or is it preference?

Default RE: Backspacing on rims...

I"m not real sure about the backspacing on the 15x8s. I've got the stock 16x8s and the backspacing on those is 5.5. I got a set of Rockcrawler 97 Series steel wheels. They have a bs of 4.25 which means the wheels actually stick out 1.25 inches more on each side. As long as the number is smaller you'll be ok. You don't wanna have a bigger number than what you have now. That will make them more narrow and you'll have more of a chance of rubbing.
