@ magnethead - Would you be able to tell me which line from the trans is the "in" and which is the "out"? Seems like your oem cooler is different than mine so the best way to talk about this might be from viewing the lines as they attach directly to the transmission.
I am trying to decide where I want to install my sender assuming I will do it with the same method that you used.
Thanks!

Here's how I did the cooler- older pics when I first mocked it up. Still need to hop out and get some pics as-is.

I put the trans temp gauge in the ash tray, upside down so I can see the needle.

the line coming off the front is a PITA to get to, that's why I spliced on the return line. The line from the front is already pointed to the back, and I was able to rotate the line from the tailshaft so that it pointed to the back as well. The temp gauge was actually an afterthought, seeing as it really belongs on the outlet to read true fluid temp, but that line is such a PITA, I just settled for putting it in the rubber splice.

Thanks for the pics! Looks like a great place to put one with a fan.
Do you happen to have a pic of the sender in the rubber hose? I am still not sure how I will secure the sender in the hose. I don't have my gauge yet but the sender that comes with it looks pretty big in the pics. You can see the one I ordered here: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/MaxTo...telink=LeftNav if your interested.
I ordered the trans, oil, and water temp gauges and will mount in a 3 pod pillar on driv side of course. (I never really like those pillar pods but now here I am doing it lol)

I was posting at the same time you were writing this I think so I missed it.
Yeah it looks like it will be a bear to get to it. I like a challenge though. lol. We'll see how it goes.

I'm not big on pillar gauges either. My whole truck is stealth. The switch panel blends in, audio system blends in, trans temp gauge is hidden.

The little sender on the cooler is for the fan to turn on and off. I think it's 190 on 180 off, I forget. I just hooked the fan up to my existing fan circuit up front. I have the temp sender further up the line.

Hope they are all electrical, elsewise have fun running mechanical lines.

FYI there is an un-used grommet behind the CTM. Pop it out, cut an X in it (or just open it up), and feed wires through. It's a little tricky to feed the wires, you have to go from the outside inwards, then snake them around the E-brake pedal. But it works grreat...I have no less than 8 wires through it now.

Here's some more I had hidden on my phone. Also shows how I mounted my methanol pump (tank is mounted to LR forward rubber inner fender flap)

first detail, it is aluminum. so when you go to take the tranny lines off. use a big wrench or something to use as a backer. (that is where i messed up.) you may have to remove the mounting bolts which should be 10mm, if i remember correctly.

after you get the tranny lines off. take the time and make sure there isn't anything stuck in the threads. some of the metal was stuck on the threads when i did mine. i use a real small flat head screwdriver to clean them out. i am guessing with the constant temp. changes causes this to happen.

also. be extremely careful when you go to put the tranny line back in. easy the cross thread. mainly where the lines go into the radiator.

hope that helps.
