Default 2004 quad cab V6 opinions

I am looking for a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. I am just trying to get opinions on the truck below.
http://www.primaryautogroup.com/view...Dawsonville-GA
Dealer is asking $10900 but it Looks to be in good shape, but I do have a few question. I am a light driver short trips to work around 7 miles one way. I don't need tons of power. I don't tow anything and would fill the bed on a few trips a year with mulch for the yard.
I worry about the miles. 133,000 is in my mind a lot. I would be trading in a 2006 Infiniti M35 with 53,000. So we are talking about a large difference.
Just need to know if there are any things to check for? I am a bit of a shade tree guy, but would rather not do anything major.
Is the V8 that much better than the V6 for just light driving and some dirt roads to go fishing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced.

Truck looks pretty clean. Also looks like it may have been repainted.

IMO, the V8 and the V6 both get horrible mileage, so you might as well look for a V8. And 133,000 miles is quite a few, but these trucks really last a long time. Mine has 194,000 on it, and there's a thread around here somewhere with some that have a lot more. Also, that price seems like it may be a little high, but I'm sure there's room for negotiation.

*EDIT*
After looking at the pictures a little closer, I'll take back the remark about it being repainted. It does look original.

I would never buy an auto from a place like this they have ways to make even a bad auto look great its a year later or less you start finding out its true quality.

Now if they give you a great warrantee that may be ok.

TOM A,

Thanks for the info. The problem is that I am looking for a 2004 quad cab and people seem to hold on to them. I would like a V8 but they seem harder to find than the V6.
I also feel it is WAY over priced. But, there is always wiggle room.
I am going to take a look at the truck over the weekend to get a getter feel for it.
The front end appears to be an issue in theses years, and the V6 has a timing chain issue. Other than that, what else should I look for beside the usual?
Thanks again.

Look at this. Lots of room to fix anything that needs it. Doesn't look bad either. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/4123340547.html

Get the picture?

Holy **** please tell me that asking price is a typo.

Did you mean 1900?

If so that's not a bad price.

NO, the price is correct. Dealer wanting $10,900. Way to expensive for a 2004 , V6 with 133000 miles. The dealer is only a few miles from my house, so I will give it a look.
I am not a big fan of two tone color. That is why I was drown to this truck. I am not against it, if I find a truck that is worth the money, I could really care less what color it is.
I just worry about the mechanics of the truck at 133,000. Buyer Beware.

I like what they have to offer. I believe the 2003 are identical except for maybe drums in the rear. But, if I found a 2003 nice enough I am not against it.

the drums are more effective than the disk- more surface area IMO. The 9"x2.25" drums are actually the spec for the heavy duty package, the 10/11 x 2's were the base spec. The 03's have the best front brakes (dual piston), but I don't think they carried it into 04. Could be wrong. I have stock 01 single piston fronts and the 9" rears, and I can go from 50 to 15 way quicker than any of my passengers would like....unless I was avoiding hitting somebody in front of me. I actually have issues with lock-up because the brakes work better than the traction coefficient to the ground.
