Default TV Cable Question

Hi guys sorry this may seem like a silly question but I'm confused about how to properly adjust the TV cable.

Before my transmission would be very late to downshift to first gear. It would not go to 1 unless I was completely stopped for 3 seconds or so and also the 2-3 upshift was super quick... sometimes u would think that it shifted from 1 to 3.

Buddy suggested my TV cable was out of adjustment so I tried it but I'm confused... he thinks it was set too soft.

So now... if I want to make the shifts firmer and later so the 2-3 isn't so quick and maybe it'll downshift to 1 quicker

Do I:

1) remove the white clip and slide the black TV cable housing to the rear towards the firewall so the black clip is behind the throttle peg?

Or

2) remove the white clip and move the black TV cable housing to the front of the truck so the black clip is in front of the throttle peg?

May be silly sorry but the manuals instructions are confused the hell out of me.

Thx

I think its gonna be number one... you want to make it more reactive to the throttle, so you want to increase the tension on the cable in the rest position.

Hope this helps :-)
