Angry 97 dakota 4x4 v6 intemitent stall no spark

hi im new to posting here though i have used to forum for troubleshooting. im having problems with an intermitent stalling problem. start the truck and go to drive and soon after will stall. sometimes i can drive for hours with no problem. when it does stall it cranks and no start. test for spark from coil and get nothing. when i unplug the three harness coming from the computer for about 2 mins normally i can get it to start again so ive never needed a tow yet. but problem seems to be getting worse and un plugging comp doesnt always work. i have done these things. new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter and ive recently baught a crank sensor to fix my problem.but to no success, also ive tested voltage on the green and orange wire going to coil and it never reached 12v while cranking. not sure if that helps but i am at witts end with this truck. i love it and would like to keep it. so im doing everything i can motor runs good when it runs. please help me if you can ive been researching for months now to no avail

Have you tried replacing the ASD relay ? Or at least try swapping it with another known good/working relay for awhile to see if it fixes the problem , only other things i can think of at the moment is loose or bad grounds , or maybe the alt isn't maintaining a sufficient voltage output or maybe the battery is getting weak ? Unplugging and re-plugging back up the computer everytime you have this problem cant be good for it eh ?

To me, it sounds like a malfunctioning sensor, did you check for any fault codes?

Default bad coil

Sounds like the same problem as one other person was having it ended up being a bad coil look very closely at it for cracks or damage, pulling it out may be the best way to be sure. Look at all wires associated with the coil also.

i have to agree the coils over heating and shutting down. your waiting is what allows the coil to cool and you to start the truck again. also look got loos connection in the fuse panal. theres a white plug which loosed up on my truck i needed to get new connectors. also the coil is ground controlled so you should have 12v with key on and about 14.0-14.5 when running. if you dont i would be looking for the reason why.
