Default Ways to lift ?

Just wondering what some of the ways are to lift my Dakota. I dont really have money for a full suspension lift yet. Is putting blocks in the back and adjust torsion bars in front a good way to get a couple inches ? What are some other options on the cheap side till i save enough to do it right.

You're only going to get about an inch and a half by cranking the torsion bars. You could theoretically crank them 2 inches but it will put a lot of strain on the front suspension and parts will wear out quicker. You could get a 3 inch body. They run about 200 bucks. They're not too diffucult to install. You and a buddy should be able to put it on in a day. Or you could get a shop to put it on if you don't feel you can handle it.

Is a 3 inch body life just basically blocks in the front and back ?

Lots of blocks between the frame and the bed/cab. There would be at least 2, probably 3 or 4 per side under the bed, and another 3-4 per side under the cab. I'm not a fan of body lifts, nor have I ever looked into them, so I could be off on my guess.

Here is a site where you could check out body lifts for your truck. http://4wheelonline.com/Products.asp...&ProductID=131

A friend put a bodylift on his 96 Ram. Was pretty pathetic and most every wire and line had to be lengthened. Also it screwed up his radiator shrooud mounting and shift levers. Was more problems than it was worth. He had to go the "cheap" way and ended up paying more to fix everything than it would had to spend the $450 to do a 3" suspension lift.

Honestly, just leave it as is until you get enough to properly lift it. You'll be happier in the long run.

Where do you find them for that much ? I must be missing that somehow. All the ones I see are around 1k. Please help me out if you can.
