1/4" is 6.25 mm. So if a 6 is loose and 7 won't go, try 1/4.

Your problem is three fold I think

1 the last time they were installed they used Lock tight on the threads

2 the hex socket is rounded off

3 the depth of the hex socket looks rather shallow in your pic's on a few of them

I will say if your brake pads are worn over 80% the pins should stick out to the point you should be able to get some locking pliers on the pins

Get a good solid grip on the pin and give it a sharp whack should knock the pin loose for you.

Do this with your tire off so you have the needed room

I will also say if you are using a cheap tool they can vary in size so your 7mm may not be a 7mm get a good quality new 7mm tool

The 7mm socket from AutoZone has worked well for me very solid no slop fit to the pin.

I just downloaded your Pic's an zoomed in on them and I think one side has Hex bolts and the other side is Torx

so you need two tools

Thanks for the info. I guess i will never find out how the truck end up with two different kind of pins, it's such a mystery.

I really appreciate all helps you've given me!

Remember put the pins back in the same hole you took them out of especial as one side may be the over sized pins.

I always make sure all the threads are clean on both the pins and the hole before installation.

I even do a trial install by hand with just the pin to be sure everything is in good order.

Don't forget to lube up the pin and bushing well with the proper lube sil-glyde
