In my pursuit of 15" wheels for racing, I noticed that my front brake caliper is pretty dadgum close to the 16" wheel. Does anybody know if a 15" will fit where the 16" went on the front? I have the 9" rear brakes so i have plenty of room back there.

Friend is giving me a set of 26 x 10 - 15 full drag slicks, I'm putting them on the OE 15 x 8 wheels ($55 each). The fronts I have some freedom on:

185/70-15 : 25.4" x ???? x 19 lbs
195/65-15 : 24.8" x 6.2" x 19 lbs
195/70-15 : 25.7" x ???? x 25 lbs
205/60-15 : 24.7" x 6.4" x 20 lbs
205/65-15 : 25.5" x 6.7" x 23 lbs
205/70-15 : 26.5" x 6.4" x 27 lbs

If a 15" wheel won't clear the brake package, the options for tall/skinny 16's aren't much.

195/65-16 : 25.3" x 6.3" x 18 lbs
205/60-16 : 25.7" x 6.7" x 21 lbs

Bump?

I picked up a pair of 15x8 wheels after school today. $65 each with old tires still mounted. Getting the slicks wednesday, then will have to have old tires unmounted and slicks mounted on. Plans are to make a couple test hits friday night.

Will see if the 15's clear the front brakes, if so, I'll snag up a pair of 15x7's for $50 each and put some used skinny's on them.

 

I have the 15's on my truck from the factory. They should fit unless there were bigger brakes for 16" wheels.

 

There is a little over half an inch between my wheel and caliper.

 

Got slicks mounted up. 26x10-15 mickey thompson on factory 15x8 wheel.
