front driver side fender on 97 dakota 5.2 4x4
hey every one new to the whole forum discussion thing and heard it was a good way to get valuable information and meet some really cool people soo here it goes
i just bout a 97 dakota sport 4x4 and the drivers side door wont open but a foot maybe and i was told i need to take the fender off to get to the hinges to get the door off soo i took out all the bollts the guy told me i needed to (5-7) and the fender wont come off let alone budge soo i got online to see if i could find a diagram to tell me what im missing if some one has had this same problem please help im tired of climbing through the passengers side door thanks

There's a ton of bolts holding that fender on. I can't totally remember, I haven't taken one off in a while, but I think there's some behind the headlight, the battery tray, fuze panel, and abs stuff all has to be unbolted, and in there infinite wisdom decided it would be a good idea to spot weld the fender right by the hood hinge. You can break it with a sharp chisel and a good whack with a hammer, when you think you have all the bolts out, look for the ones you missed. Have fun lol
I bought a builder Durango awhile back the fenders aren't super difficult but there are a ton of bolts don't miss the ones hidden by the inner fender. Its got to come out. Take the hood off before you start. Hope the bottom bolt at the back of the fender underneath the truck isn't rusted. Take all the electrical crap loose before you try to pull the fender off
