Just replace it, they are inexpensive and you will not have to think about it again...

Oh believe me, that's the next step. However, I'm starting to suspect the TPS so I'd like to at least figure out which one is the culprit.

I checked the voltage on the TPS and it went from .6V to 3.78V with the butterfly wide open. Can someone tell me if this is within acceptable range?

I had a similar issue with RPMs on my truck. It got bad enough over my 40 mile drive to work that the transmission was constantly trying to find choose a gear when I maintained a constant speed. TPS was the culprit

The thing that throws me is that the problem is only at idle when stopped. If the truck is moving or being accelerated, there is no issue. It drives smoothly. Stop, and I can watch the needle rise and fall, or it shuts off. Strangely, it's behaving right now. Idling okay at the moment.

I had a TPS like that ran good then bad then good then bad replaced it smooth as silk. The weird thing was when it ran good it was good for a month or so then one day idled weird for a week or so then good again.

Strange

Get an AIRTEX / WELLS they tend to be a good brand the cheap ones tend to act weird

Not the low priced AIRTEX / WELLS get the higher priced model

Checked with Dodge dealer today. About 95 bucks for the IAC and 85.00 for the TPS. Since I've cleaned the IAC, I'm going to see if I can get the Mopar TPS online and see if that clears up the problem, which has mysteriously disappeared for the time being. If it comes back again after that, I'll get the IAC.

Since I commented on this last week, my truck has started doing the same thing. About 500-1000 rpms. Since my TPS was done a few months ago, I think I'll look in the IAC. Please keep me posted on your results.

Will do, sir. However, I'm going to wait and see if it acts up again. Suggest cleaning the IAC.

Anyone know if 3.78V is acceptable high voltage with butterfly wide open when testing TPS?
