Thanks for the pics, magnethead. Hopefully I'll take some time this weekend to crawl up under the truck and take a closer look. Admittedly, however, I really need to get other stuff done around here. Just not enough hours in a day....

you're talking to a guy that runs 2 businesses plus substitute teachers (for now). I know the feeling well.

Also, check your PM's.

"Anyone that is an expert at something, was once a beginner."

My mechanic didn't think we had taken a close look at the wiring harness back there when we first looked at the truck. But in looking at it today, he agreed that something's not right up there, even though all the rear lighting appears to work properly.

Haven't yet taken time to look at it closer, but it is increasingly sounding like there's more to this little project than I had hoped.

if in doubt, that part of the harness is EASILY attained from a junkyard. The upper part stays attached to the bed and lower part stays attached to the chassis- they are formally called (i believe) the rear body-chassis electrical union.

If my success in obtaining a used driver's seat from junkyards is any indication, I'll be a VERY old man by the time I get a harness, much less a seat. But I'll try.

Thanks for the info.

Any drag racing on the docket this weekend?
