Default back up lamps blown fuses

My 2004 Dakota quad cab has lost both back up lights. I checked and found that the fuse was blown. I put in the new 15A fuse, and it blew that one too. I'm scratching my head and don't know what is wrong. Help!

there's a short somewhere. Pull the bulbs out then put voltmeter probes on both sides of the fuse contacts. If you show anything other than 12V, the wire is shorted to ground somewhere between the fuse and lamps.

Check your wires all the way to the tail lights you have a ground also pull each tail light fixture and look at them pull each bulb and look for corrosion in the socket.
