does anyone know how to tighten the throttle cable on a 3.9L engine? the cable is very loose and im not getting a good acceleration and want to tighten the cable if possible.

 

I've not heard of this cable coming loose, but that means nothing if it is common or not. Call an auto parts store and see if open on one end.

My dumb assumption would be to check if the adjustment is on the foot pedal... fly by wire.

There's no real throttle linkage adjustment...the sheath solidly engages to the firewall and throttle body...

 

With that said, Mag, I'd believe there is something that broke (like a bracket or tube), leaving more play in the cable than necessary.

The cable can and will eventually stretch, a few zip ties between the cable end and the pedal arm will fix this, I have done it to a few old cars and worked well.

I watched a you tube video and there is a adjustment on the cable under the hood, but it didnt show how to set the adjustment

 

i like that idea ill have to take a look and see if i can do that as well.
