School me on Lift/Tires
Kat, i'm thinking not.
I got 265x75xR16 with Wrangler AT tires that did rub. I also have the flares, which i had to cut up on the inside. Weird thing is one side was different from the other. The guy at Discount tire told me he see's that sometimes.

I used indexed keys from suspensionmaxx and 2" blocks in the rear and fit 33x12.50 tires. 33's will rub if you use stock rims so you would either have to go with 33x10.50, run wheel spacers, or get rims with less backspacing.
thanks for all the info guys. The truck is being driven out to Reno, from NH in 2 weeks, and I'll have it around march 5th! I'm excited to finally have my own "modern" vehicle and not having to worry about relying on my 40 year old hooptie.
Dr. Marneaus,
I'm currently running 255/75/17 (stock Jeep tires, MT) on a 17" rim without any lift (body or suspension) and it clears without any problems even with hard turns and off roading. Yes, I get a little rub on the top end when articulating thru rough terrain (to be expected) but otherwise running great. stock was 15" rims/ tires.
I also have not seen a decrease/ increase overall in MPG (city 17 or HWY 20) and I've been running them for 9 months now on a 2000 dodge dakota quad cab, 4.7L. manual trans 5 speed, cold air intake, catback exhaust, magnaflow muffler with 2.5" pipes.
P.S. - the 255/75/17 jeep MT tires are all over craigslist for $500 to $800 for a set of 4 or 5 (at least in Colorado anyway) with 80% tread.
