Default Leaking 3rd Brake light with no seal?

Hey Yall;

Called the dealer looking for the seal they told me there wasn't one and only showed the assembly it self and was asking 100+ bucks which would be one hell of a cost for a seal being that's all i need.

I'm assuming they dont make a seal for the 3rd brake light and it comes with the assembly?

If i buy an aftermarket one would it come with a seal?

55056203AH is the part number they gave me.

You do realize that it's just a thin strip of cheap foam tape? Just make a bead around it with some silicone and call it a day.

Yeah.. i realize that.. same with the mirrors.. i siliconed the side that was leaking but not sure if i got it all still got water coming in up front i have to find and i know im leaking in the rear and I'm about sure its the light cus its coming from the roof..

So I'm considering all options.. i really hate to 'rig it' but was thinking about silicone around the edges.. let dry then it should create a 'gasket' but wont be stuck on you know..

Exactly, I was going to tell you that, but figured you'd figure it out

Yeah.. one of many options.. the plastic like foam crap they used sucks so bad.. sometimes i can only facepalm and what these engineers were thinking..

I had a mech. do my engine mounts for me.. it was such a nightmare being I'm a 4x4 model.. no i realize why the shop wanted almost 400 bucks a side.
