Welding help needed

It was in the 'detailing' section and since we do not have 'welding' section I moved it to the section of the vehicle he mentioned, a Dakota.

Personally, I would (and did) buy a 220V machine, especially if you're going to do any heavy-duty welding. Using flux-core wire outdoors is good advice, at least if it's windy outside or portability is a big concern.
It's much more difficult to weld decently with a stick welder than it is with a MIG. And there's not much a stick will do that a MIG won't. For what you want to do, there's no reason to own both, IMO.
FWIW, my machine is a Lincoln Power Mig 255 that's probably close to 20 years old.
