HI - 2003 Dakota Standard Cab. I have someone selling a color matched Leer Truck Cap for Dakota's. Issue is he is selling it for a friend and other than Dakota doesn't know what years it fits. May go see it on Sunday. He did measure it for me and it's about 6.5 feet so that should fit the bed.


Do any of you know if this looks like about the right cap for the 1997-2004 models? Just trying to get as much info as I can before I drive out to see it. My truck is used and has some type of RETRAX like bed cover on it so it's not going to be easy to test fit.

Really impossible to say without an exact part number to reference or an actual test fit.

 

Did you go check that out ?
I believe all 6 1/2' beds on Gen. 1+2 are the same.

 

Appreciate the advice - I did end up at a Leer dealer and the guy selling the cap read of the serial number. The leer dealer was able to look it up and yes it fits my Dakota. Not going to be able to sync up with the seller for a few weeks, but if it looks even half decent, suspect I will make him an offer.


I have some kind of roll lock bed cover on the truck now, several bolts really frozen on - it is a 2003 after all. So whatever happens, before I go see it I have to get these bolts on my truck loose so I can even get it home.
