fuel pump problem
I'm looking at a 2000 Dakota 3.9L auto. It won't run, they say the fuel pump is bad. If I hook up a fuel pressure gauge to it, will the battery crank it fast enough to see if the pump is the problem? If so, how much pressure should it hold cranking it like this? I'm just worried it may have bigger problems. TIA
Just turning the key to the position before it cranks should activate the pump its electric and its inside the gas tank you should hear it buzz a low sound buzz.

Thanks for the reply 98. I wasn't sure if the pump would go completely out and not run or if it would run but not make enough pressure to run the engine.
