If i pull my light switch, my head lights turn on, but my tail lights and my dash lights do not come on, the brake lights will come on when the pedal is pressed, im glad i didnt get pulled over, figured id ask if this is a fuse, i didnt look because i dont have any fuses and it got dark, so im waiting until morning to fully investigate, figured this may be a common thing, if not where should i start?

Fuse first, yep. I don't have a 1998, can't tell you which one, but (ahem) it's probably the one that's blown *grins*

I replaced the blown fuse after i made this thread, and the fuse was good until just now, i was driving, no dash lights, no tail lights, so i pulled the blown fuse, put another, instantly pops it, put another, instantly pops it, so something is shorted out on that curcuit, is what im assuming??

im not very familiar at all with the electrical aspect of vehicles, im very good at rebuilding the entire car, but chasing down an electrical problem is not something ive ever had to do, but i work on appliances and have multimeters, clamp meters and many other tools im sure will help solve this problem,

So the #14 Fuse on the Fuse panel inside the D/S Dash, keeps blowing out, when i put a good fuse, the power in the vehicle seemed to drag down until the fuse popped

Pull the bulbs one at a time until the fuse stops blowing. Narrow it down.

is there anything else that would cause the fuse to blow like that? the fuse powers the tail lights, and the dash lights, i dont know if the 1999 cluster has anything to do with it, being that my truck is a 98, the odometer reads "n0 bu5" after a few seconds, but ive had that cluster installed over a year
