Smile TCM swap

Brand new member here with my first post. Just swapped a 2002 Jeep 4.7 TCM into my 2001 4.7 Dakota Quad. It is working properly and I think it is great. The best feature of the Jeep TCM, IMHO is the fact that the truck no longer downshifts so much. Before, it downshifted with very little throttle pressure which aggravated me no end. The new TCM stopped this. It will downshift normally but takes considerably more throttle pressure to do so. Also love having a 5 spd vs a 4 spd.

Default Update

Just got back from a 450 mile trip in the Dakota. The new TCM performed as advertised. Big surprise for me was an improvement in gas mileage from 18.5 to just over 21 MPG at a steady 70 MPH. Why in the world didn't Dodge ever do this for Dakota owners?
