I've noticed lately on my '04 that my front suspension creaks when compressed a decent amount, like pulling into a driveway or going over a speed bump. I'm gonna assume this is the control arm bushings, but the truck only has 110K on it, so not sure if they'd be warn yet...although they're coming up on 12yrs old so.
Anything else it could be? Ball joints are relatively new, maybe 10K on them.
Could start by replacing the bushings on your front sway bar, fairly cheap and easy. Good chance you would not replace them again with today's materials.
I had same noise with my 02 for me it was the
ball joints. I used a needle for blowing up a ball
attached it to my grease gun poked it through the rubber
and put in some grease noise went away.
Another vote for stabilizer bar end links. I have put 4 sets on my truck in the 10 years I have owned it. Every time the links went bad the symptoms were very similar to OP's, popping and creaking when I backed out of my driveway or went over a speed breaker in a parking lot.
