Default 99 Dakota will not start!! code P1282 showing

Hi there, my 99 Dakota will not start, went out in the morning no probs, came to use it in the afternoon and it turns over fine, but wont start. I notice that on the start up I could not hear the normal buzz of the fuel pump for a couple of seconds. Any ideas?? edit update-now P1282 showing

Yes it has 3/4 tank of gas.have done the key dance and code P1282 has come up. Fuel pump circuitry fault. Have checked fuses and relays all working (have swopped relays) does it now point to the pump not working? How can I test the pump on its own?

you can hit it with some starter fluid. If it fires, Then I would do a pressure test.
