2000 dakota with a 4.7. was told that the crank positioning sensor was bad along with the cam sensor. changed both and its a little easier to start but still runs like crap!! any suggestions? im talking it wont move on its own.

 

Was there a code pointing to those sensors? Is the check engine light still on?

 

there was a code for the crank sensor but nothing else. CEL is not on. ive tried letting it run long enough to throw a code but it hasnt yet. also the only way to start it is to hold it wide open.

 

when changing the crank sensor i knocked it in the block. i dont believe the motor will pick it up as big as it is but i would like to know for sure. anyone have any thoughts??
