Recently When Lifting my 4.7 engine out of my dodge I used a set of ratchet straps and and engine lift. One set for the front and one set for the back. I chose ratchet straps since they were the 2" thick ones and conformed to the block and heads better than chains would. I watched a video on YouTube where "Eric The Car Guy" lifted one out with an engine lift and and old seat belt.
