Default Stuttering dakota

Hi all. Im new to the forum but been back and forth for awhile now.

My truck is a 2003 dakota slt 4x4 4.7 quad cab not sure the transmission type. I have a few problems that im unsure on.

1. My dodge is making weird shifts like the its the transmission slownoid acting up but after a bit of research i think it may be the tps. When im driving down the road and rpm is around 1500-1700 my truck does not shift properly out of overdrive same goes for when driving through town it seems like it should shift but it hits hard but stays in gear. Also when driving at nearly any rpm when letting off the throttle the rpm raises about 200 rpm. This is why i believe it is the tps. Would this be a logical decision?

2. I get burnt oil smell from the rear of the truck specifically the drivers side even if i drive a short piece up the road less than 1 km will do it. Ive read about the wheel seals leaking and getting on the i side of the drums but mine is a disc brake setup. I believe its diff oil but its never really low and i cant find leaks, my front diff is leaking slightly though.

Thanks for any help in advance.
