before you dig that deep try this pull the fan belt off then run it just for a little this will eliminate a number of possibilitys such as the power steering the fan so on.

Now see of you hear the same noise capture any sounds it makes with another video.

Did you test the mechanical fan?

The chain tensioner has nothing to do with oil pressure

well... back from another day of deciphering the dodge...

Tried the engine without belt... same as before. Clattering from the top of the engine. Put the belt back on... started the truck... sounded awful... over the course of ten minutes it seemed to gain lubrication and all of the noise disappeared. No change in oil pressure gauge (which stayed at zero). Stayed quiet and sounded perfect for another 20 minutes. Drove up and down the block... stopped.

Started it again tonight, same racket... but its now throwing a code: PO344 which is camshaft sensor.

I think its time to start saving up and pull the engine at a friends place that has a hoist. Very curious as to what we will find. Someone suggested the oil relief valve in the oil pump is stuck open from all the gunk and therefore allow all pressure to void.

Lightbulb

If thats how you want to proceed pull the valve covers and timing chain cover and post pic's of what you find should be interesting.

I do believe you must dump the coolant to pull the timing cover.
