Default Tire size and error code

Quick question.
Do over sized tires cause an engine error code? I thought I read that here somewhere.

Not that I know of.. I went from 29" tires to size 32" and it just threw off my speedometer by 5-6 mph on the freeway.

Use a GPS speedometer app to see how far off it is after the switch.

Thank Tony, since you mentioned 32" tires could you answer a few questions. How long have you been on those? Do you have a lift on your truck and what kind. Aside from MPH, have you noticed any MPG change?. Also with the larger tires have you noticed any related maintenance issues, like steering rack, pump or rod ends?

I have been on these tires for about a year now. I did notice a MPG drop from 21 Freeway to 18. It is lifted 2" with coil spacers up front and extended shackles in the back. (it's a 2wd) It's also a dog now with 3.55 gears. I am looking for a decent 3.92 rear axle to swap in.

I haven't had any maintenance issues because of the larger tires, but I had replaced most of the suspension wear parts like ball joints and rod ends before putting the tires on. (bushings were dry rotted and Ball joints were worn out)

Side note: if you go Higher than a 2" lift with the stock control arms, it is impossible to align.. You can go 3" with the Doetch Tech lift, they include custom upper control arms.

Default Tires

Thanks Tony, I replaced all the same parts, upper lower bushings, outer tie rods, upper lower ball joints, sway bar bushings, shocks
I've got about 100 miles on the new tires and I'm taking it to the Mts on Sat for a little more suspension workout on some rocky washed out roads. Curious to see if they rub anywhere.

I just noticed you had the 4x4 not the 2wd like mine.. I think the 4wd came stock with 32s? No lift needed.

I had to lift mine just to get it to the stock 4x4 height.
