Unhappy RPM Drop

Hello Everyone. I own an 1998 Dakota with the 3.9 Magnum V6. Whenever I shift from drive to park, I am experiencing a large RPM drop (to about 490), then the idle pops back up to ~800 normal idle. I have replaced the idle air control valve, thinking that this may be the issue, but there has been no change. The motor has 180,000 miles so there is a good possibility of worn parts. I would expect this shifting from park to drive, as there is load being put on the engine, but I have never experienced this when shifting to park before this truck. any thoughts on why this is happening, and how to fix?
