Default stalling in reverse

I have a 99 Dakota that I just purchased and it has ran fine without any issues until today. Twice back to back I put the truck in reverse and it shut off. It starts back without any hesitation. But what could be the cause???

Exactly what mine did, stall in reverse and it was the crank position sensor. Get a good one as I put one in out of the box and it was bad. Make sure your voltage is good as my alternator failed once and it acted the same way.

I'm gonna try it. It was weird that it ran normal, no check engine lights on or anything.

Never did get a code for the sensor either even though it was the problem, i did get a few misfire codes though.
