I have had full size RAM trucks for years. Need to replace my 96 1500. Found a 2001 Dakota 3.9L with less than 70k miles. Carfax is clean and shows just 3,000 miles per year between annual inspections. I don't know much about the 3.9L or dakotas in general. Is there anything specific I should be looking for or known problems?

My '01 3.9 that I have owned since new has had no problems that jump to mind. The 3.9 is just a 318 with the rear two cylinders chopped off as far as I know. If the truck is as you say then jump on it, especially if the price is right.
