Another Slave Cylinder Bleed Thread
Okay, I will start by saying I have read many posts about this and I get that the Master / Slave system in these trucks was not meant to be bled. Yet, I see people have found painful ways to do it. What I can't seem to find, (although one member mentioned they had) is a slave with a bleed screw. Does anyone know of an aftermarket part number or store/website that sells one?? This post in 3rd Gen's mentions that Advance had one, do we think it would fit 2nd Gen with NV3500?

The problem is our gen of Dakotas are sealed units never to be bleed older Dakotas had the old style that could be bleed and separate parts could be purchased assembled and bleed. So the only way is to but an older 1-st gen Dakota hydrophilic system in a 2-nd gen Dakota.
I strongly suggest not doing this the sealed one piece system is better and easy to install and the same price.
I just installed a new one piece unit last year it was easy well it was a pain hooking things up under the dash but the rest was easy but with my 2.5 engine I had lots of room.
Backing off the booster helped just don't forget the hard plastic ring on the plunger shaft you need it they don't tell you this in the instructions without it your Dakota will not start.
The plastic ring on the plunger shaft is part of the clutch switch so that you must have the clutch pedal depressed or you cant start your Dakota the plastic ring is a needed spacer.
Automatic's this dose not apply
Also don't break that switch it cost $80 to replace.
