Default Catalytic converter

I would like to know that if my truck has california emissions Would I have to purchase new catalytic converters that is california emissions?

I do not have emission testing where I live and do not know on which ones to purchase.

I have purchased walker catalytic converter and did not last a year before something inside came loose and made a rattle noise.

You could go without or just slap on a generic fit way cheaper just get the correct size of tubing .

If you're no longer in California I believe you can replace it with any converter of your choice. I know California has some of the strictest laws when it comes to vehicle emissions. Most cats can only be purchased through the dealership as the have to be approved by the state. I get customer at my dealership all the time asking about after market cats.
