`98 Dakota, 3.9 w/42RE trans. In January I posted about being stuck in 1st gear, finally pulled tranny & took it to a rebuild shop, they did then we put it back in. Reverse worked 3 times & that was it, All 4 forward Did! Took it to the shop & they took it out, took it apart...Twice, in the air reverse works. So, the shop found a 125K tranny & put it in, $0 dollar charge when daughter & wife went to pickup(BTW, owner Is an older family friend & has been working on cars quite some time!). I Knew this coming week I was going to stop past & through some $ at him whether he liked or...This eve, I wanted to drive it..put it in reverse, remembered That sound, revved a little...No R! Shop owner, Hopefully will still be a Family friend, lol. "My Kingdom for Reverse"..any Ideas I can pass on to? Once again Thanks for all looks & especially advice! GAS
