coming from a first gen Dakota as my last one few years ago.. .. hense my name , back to a 4x4 .. and price was right ..

anyway picked up a 2003 quad cab AWD/4wd (yes the apparently rare 4.7L AWD lol) also factory tow package among other things I'm still figuring out haha .. that said ive looked at the FSM and its pretty vague on the issue at hand and everything I see has different information I'm just looking for clarity on this..


OIL PAN yes the dreaded oil pan on the 4.7L .. argh lol I know the front difff has to come out no big deal, but from what I read the steering rack might have to aswell? FSM dosent say this.. also do I need to remove the from half shafts before dropping the axle or can they be removed from the diff while its being dropped without tearing front end apart?

also will 15 inch rims fit with the 4wheel disk brakes?
