Default 1998 Dodge Dakota 318 2wd Auto oil pressure gage drops when hot and you let off gas

It hesitates if it's not fully warm, I need to change the oil and filter... 207k miles starts right up after a minute starts sounding like a cammed out truck. Runs good when warm besides the gage... what size socket do I need to pull the sending unit?

Also will a oil sending unit off a 95 318 2wd fit onto it?

Its may not be the gauge. My experience with Dodge V8's (and others) that it is sludge clogging up the system. You should try Jilcat Proline Engine Conditioner. It will dissolve all the sludge and return the oil pressure to normal. It will also remove the friction which will help with the operating temperature, power and fuel economy. email me gene@jilcatproline.com Gene Daughtry
