Good News to share
First I need to say thanks to all the Dakota enthusiasts who helped me resolve the problem with my truck.
In April, I bought a 1999 Dakota, Extended Cab, auto, 3.9L Magnum with 48,000 original miles. So, to figure out what was going on with the way this truck ran, I poured over all the available info to help with the power and fuel economy. So, here is a rundown of what I did;
-installed Autolite 3923's gapped at .045
-installed new 7mm sparkplug wires
-changed the cap and rotor
-removed stock air filter housing
-installed K&N filter and aftermarket intake tubing
-created a larger opening in front grill at fresh air intake
Results:
Just got 291 miles to the tank full (14 gallons) when previous gas mileage never exceed 180 miles per tank
Better and more suprising acceleration
[X(]The only problem that still remains is the rough idle. Can anyone offer a suggestion to help with this problem?!
