Default 545 RFE transmission filter keeps falling off

I had a remanufactured transmission installed in a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi just 2 months ago. Started it up again this morning and it would not move (seems to happen on the first start of the day cold) it worked fine the day before the tranny is still under warranrty but it is a pain in the rear! The filter and bolt laying in the bottom of the pan. I am sure it happened again any ideas what might be causing this??

are you installing a new filter seal with the filter? When you pull the old filter out, the old seal may have issues sealing the new filter; which is why is must be replaced with the filter.
I never used to replace the seal until instructed to do so at a fca rfe transmission course.

Yes my mechanic has! I have also been told not to use aftermarket filters in 545 RFE's because the seal material is different I have to get with my mechanic and see if he used a Mopar filter I have also found a techincal service bulletin TSB 21-007-06 I will see what happens!

So you're talking about the flat screen filter which has an rubber O-ring on the neck. The neck is supposed to snap in and be about flush, before u bolt it. What can happen is the old O-ring gets stuck up in the tunnel, causing the neck to not seat. Might want to check that and dig it out if so. Btw, there is never a need to buy a new one. Brake cleaner or a garden hose can flush it clean.
