new shocks in
Ok I think it was here that I posted about hating the ride on choppy freeway surfaces - my 02 Dakota bucked enough to make it uncomfortable, and I didn't like it. I got flamed about it being a truck and that I was an idiot for expecting more. Well a big F U to whoever that was... my 86 Ram rides better, and now that I put a set of Rancho RSX's on the Dakota it's WAY better. Stock stuff was GARBAGE, or totally shot. They OEM stuff is way softer. My Dakota now rides like a truck should - firm. It doesn't buck, it doesn't wallow around corners, and it doesn't ride like my parents' old Custom Cruiser anymore.
Thumbs up for the RSX. I was tempted to go for the 9000s with the free in-cab adjusters, but they're just too expensive for shocks, and I'm not really into adjusting things.

I've heard the same thing that the stock shocks are crap. I've also heard that the Ranchos greatly improve the ride quality. I think I will look into getting those when the time comes. Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like them.
I've heard good things about the IAS's, but I'd rather get my suspension stuff from a suspension company. I know it may be absurd and the product is probably fine, but I'm funny that way.
I no how you feel i have a 2003 3.9 liter 2wd regular cab with only 16 thousand miles on it and the ride quilty is terriable. Specialy on any unsmooth surface like for say pavement that has gotten a littel rough. And im not talking bumpy like a truck would ride im talking like mexican lowrider where they take the shocks completly off lol so 1s a save enought cash up new shocks are deffintly going on my baby other then that the trucks great.
