Default Will Pioneer TS-A1686R A-Series 6.5" speakers fit?

I want to put these into my '97 dakota sport but crutchfield says they wont fit and I think it might be because of the depth. Would the stock adapter solve that problem or would I have to retro fit them?

You can chat with tech support on the crutchfield website,. I'd ask them .

I fit 6.5s with a 2" depth in my front and rear doors. The pioneers are 2 and 3/16". If they don't fit directly, you should be able to overcome it with spacers. I did not use the grills that come with them, of course. I just put the door panel on over them. Don't recall it being tight fit either.

Thanks for the quick responses. I ordered the poineers and a pair of meta (not sure the model) spacers for the front. The behind the seat speakers have a much deeper cavity from what I could tell so I think I'm set. Again thanks!
