Default Bosch oxygen sensors don't work well

I should have listened to some forum posters. They are indeed right that Bosch oxygen sensors don't work as well as OEM sensors. I bought Bosch sensors labeled OE at a parts store, but they were Bosch and not Chrysler original equipment. Needed the truck to work well quickly, so I installed them rather than wait for a dealer to open. Sure enough, they started throwing a code again after a short time. Took it to my mechanic and he checked all kinds of things and it goes back to the sensors. He took the Bosch out, put Chrysler OE in and no problems. He's been driving the truck for three days now with no further problems. I have a call in to Bosch to report this and will post on how they handle the issue. Wish I had listened to the posters on Dodge forums, but you know how it is...you have those who know what they are talking about mixed in with ham handed mechanically challenged folks. <G> haven't noticed problems with other Bosch parts in several types of vehicles. Must be a quirk...

Default RE: Bosch oxygen sensors don't work well

A Bosch rep called me about this issue (rather quickly after I called them) and gave me a warranty number to call about this issue if I had a problem getting a refund from the parts store. 1-800-732-6724 They have an "catch all" number on their web site where you can contact them to speak directly to a rep about all other problems. He said he hadn't heard of this issue with Dodges and has a Town & Country he uses these sensors on. He is going to report it to engineering and see if they can start looking into this issue. Seems odd to me they don't work on Dodges. I haven't had problems with Bosch parts before. Maybe those of you who have had problems can speak with the manufacturer. At least they can build up a database of vehicles having problems with the sensors.
