Default headlight problem

I have a 2004 Dakota 4x4 and the drivers side headlight went out (no problem with the right side working)Both high and low beam quit working. a new bulb did not fix the problem. Is there a fuse for each individual side of the headlights? I looked in the fuse box under the hood and also the fuse box on the drivers side of the dash but didn't see a "Headlight" fuse labeled. I don't know if it a coincidence but the drivers door doesn't lock now when I use the key fob.

I’m having the same problem. Did you find the fuse?

You can test for power where the bulb goes.Sometimes contacts corrode or a minor short can happen at the base.Likely not a fuse if the other one works.

Yes, exactly. As a truck gets this old it's time to break out the dvom and do voltage drop and continuity tests on the headlight wiring and the pigtail connectors. I had this happen on a recently acquired Dakota and it was a pin fitment issue at the vehicle side pigtail connector and I found a bunch of very poorly made connections by a previous owner when they installed aftermarket projector headlights when they had no clue what they were doing. If your pigtails are bad you can get new ones from an auto supply and wire them in with heat shrink butt connectors or by doing a lineman's splice and soldering then apply heat shrink over the joints, wrap in electrical tape then enclose in split loom or cover with tesa tape for abrasion resistance.
