P1698 accidentally pulled 10 amp transmission fuse while running
Long story short, I was dumb and messing with fuses while my 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L was running. Accidentally pulled the transmission fuse out, which caused it to stall. My knee-jerk reaction when that happened was to immediately put the fuse back in(which was slightly before the truck fully stopped idling).
Engine code has now come on, and reads P1698, which means the PCM/ECU cannot communicate with the Transmission control module.
The truck still runs but it is in some sort of limp mode. I can no longer see which gear I'm in on the dash, and it feels like it is stuck in second gear when in Drive.
My question is, did I just fry the TCM?

Well that sounds promising! I'll try that today. But... Theoretically.. if that doesn't work, where would I look next?
So I disconnected the battery, waited 20 minutes and reconnected it. The check engine light came back on with the same code, P1698. The only difference is now, the gear shift indicator on the dash is cycling through all the gears over and over again. Park all the way through 1st.
