Default Tailgate Assist
I know nobody makes a tailgate assist system for the Dakota, but has anybody been successful in making one work for their Dakota?

Also, it "assists" by lowering slowly, not helping you lift up. I guess that would require some type of spring.

Nobody makes a tailgate assist, so I designed mine with the same parts just a different mounting at the top hinge point
