Default Overheating issue.

2000 3.9 dak. On hot days my temp gauge keeps creeping higher and higher. When I shut it off the temp will climb even more. Oddly enough I don't get much heat on the cab on cold days. Is my heater core screwed? Can this cause engine overheating?

First thing to do is to just check the coolant level at the radiator, not the recovery tank. Mine over heated yesterday (4.7l) but I think mine is a bad fan clutch
