Key remote?

Have a 1998 dodge dakota and purchased a used remote on ebay. I've seen programming for a 2001 here and wondering if it's the same? Thanks!

Sending unit 2003 dakota 5.9L trouble

distance to empty display doesnt change when driving after replacing fuel pump, any ideas would be appreciated
