2004 quad cab dakota rocker panels are rusting. There are a couple of good size holes. I didn't pay much for the truck and don't keep on keeping it too long, is there a cheap easy fix to get it looking halfway decent? I know there is a plastic cover up panels for silverado, anything like this for dakotas?
Insulating spray foam. Fill up the cavities, shave it smooth and paint it.
Now thats a great idea. Never thought of doing that. Probably a heck of a lot easier than bondo if your not that concerned about appearance (which I'm not).
I have rust on mine too. I didn't bother trying to repair it, figured even my best attempt would still look ghetto. So I just simply sprayed the whole bottom few inches of the body with black bed liner to hide the rust. Its WAY less noticeable when it's all black. Night and day difference in my case.
here is a before and after. This is the same truck, the same side, the same day. Absolutely no repairs. Just black bed liner.
