Default 1997 Dakota Sport 2.5 L Engine Help

Hello,
My husband has a 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport 2.5 L Engine manual. When turning on the heat it is not blowing out hot air. It is cool air. The AC doesn't work either. Also, the floor on the passenger side is wet. What could this be?
Thanks.

Heater core is leaking, AC system is low on refrigerant.

Heater core replacement is a pain, but can be done with a little patience. A/C is easy. Just get a charging kit from Walmart and follow the directions. I've recharged two of my cars in the past. Save a bit from the A/C repair guy.

So can we do a Heater Core Bypass? I am not paying 1000.00 dollars. My husband took out the dash over the weekend and couldn't see anything leaking so he put it back together. He couldn't get to the heater core. This truck is old and rusty and he doesn't want to break anything. We drive it once a week for trash only.

If you don’t mind not having any heat yes you can bypass the heater core.
