Unhappy Truck starts but immediately dies

Hi guys! New here and appreciate the help.

I have a 1998 Dakota SLT that I've owned for a little over 6 months. Upon purchase the previous owner did not have the remote but only a manual ignition key that appears to be not factory original. I'm very mechanically inclined and have been able to keep her running great. However, one issue that stumps me is the issue I have if my truck sits more than 2 days or so. The truck won't start and requires a jump, it will usually start on the first crank once hooked up to a jump. However, this time she will start but only if I apply the throttle during startup and the moment I release, the engine dies. This happened once before and it ended up being related to the security system. Can't recall what I did so I need a refresher course on how to reset the security system on this truck. Also any other suggestions on what else could be causing this in the event it isn't related to the security system this time around. As a side note, several months ago I checked for a parasitic drain and found nothing abnormal. As of an hour ago the battery was fully charged by advance auto and passed all tests. Awaiting suggestions before taking another crack at it. All suggestions are much appreciated!

Weak battery will do that. Seeing as you have to jump it I would say it is about dead.

just had that on my Durango. would have to jump it every time it sat longer than overnite. and it would also die til I let it warm up, had to hold the pedal down and keep a "fast idle" til the idiot computer reset itself, then it would surge for a few minutes before it would level off, with new battery in, no more issue.
